Happy Fourth of July!
It's warm and sunny here on the coast now that the morning fog has burned off. But let’s talk about the beer…
We just tapped our summer seasonal, "Big Ring Belgian IPA". This beer has loads of tropical fruit notes, pine, and citrus from Galaxy, Citra, and Simcoe hops. The Belgian yeast adds some banana and a little bit of spicy clove rounds out the finish. This is the perfect refreshing, summer beer for fans of hops and Belgian styles.
The newest batch of "Coastside Pilsner" also just came on tap and is a crisp, warm-weather offering.
Our 15th Anniversary Party in coming up on July 18. For the party we brewed "Orange-u-Hoppy", a Blood Orange XXAmber Ale. We took our flagship, Amber, increased the malt and hops, and added Blood Orange puree. It has a bright, Blood Orange Aroma, pleasant hop bitterness, and enough malt to make a well-balanced, 7.3% beer.
Finally, we added a new member to the brewing team, Nick May. Nick joins use all the way from St. Louis, MO. He recently moved to San Jose with his wife. He has been a strong team so far and we look forward to working with him.
Beer Fact of the Day: George Washington brewed beer in his own brewery at Mount Vernon.
Enjoy your Independence Day weekend!
