Join Us For Brews&Views! Eric Vettel, President of the American Energy Society, which runs the Coastside Venture Studio, will deliver a talk and answer questions about the new Coastside Venture Studio in Half Moon Bay. The CSVS supports early-stage startups and entrepreneurs as they take their ideas to market.
The Coastside Venture Studio (CSVS) is the epitome of a “force multiplier." New startup companies can change lives by helping build a more equitable, vibrant, and resilient Coastside economy that can absorb unavoidable economic and climate disruptions. Headquartered in Half Moon Bay, CSVS is fast becoming a thriving entrepreneurial epicenter dedicated to solving urgent resiliency challenges in food, water, and the built environment.
There are two parts to this presentation:
The focus of CSVS on Resiliency, an issue that will soon matter to the entire world but matters to the Coastside now. By focusing on “res-tech”, the CSVS incubator has immediate competitive advantages.
The full range of CSVS services, including: how startups are selected (all new business ventures must align with Coastside interests); how mentors and coaches help founders prepare for commercial liftoff; and, helping connect entrepreneurs with new networks, partners, and ecosystems.

Eric Vettel
Chief Executive Officer of Coastside Venture Studio. He has a deep entrepreneurial spirit and is drawn to solving important global challenges to which he commits all his professional energy. His professional career has focused on institution building and program rehabilitation in both the private and public sector.
Lenny Mendonca, Moderator
Co-founder of the Half Moon Bay Brewing Company, Former Chief Economic and Business Advisor to Governor Gavin Newsom of California. He is a Senior Partner Emeritus of McKinsey & Company and a Lecturer on Inequality at the Stanford Business School. He founded McKinsey’s U.S. state and local public sector consulting practice. He also oversaw their knowledge development, Chairing the McKinsey Global Institute and the Firm's communications, including the McKinsey Quarterly. He is also the Founding Chair of the Coastside News Group (Half Moon Bay Review and Pacifica Tribune).
