Half Moon Bay Brewing Company has set the standard for craft beer in the San Francisco Bay Area for more than two decades, winning multiple medals at the U.S. Open Beer Championship, California Brewers Cup, and the California State Fair.

We believe in quality beer - that’s why we craft ours from the finest ingredients at our in-house brewery.

Available Year Round

  • 5.1% ABV | IBU 23

    An easy drinking, lightly hopped ale with a slight herbal hop finish from German Tettnang and Hallertau Hops.

  • 6.7% ABV | IBU 24

    A special yeast strain gives our Saison a nice background of fruit and spice. Pilsen malt lends a soft dry mouthfeel with notes of bread crust and honey.

  • 5.8% ABV | IBU 28

    Robust, balanced Amber Ale brewed with four malts and cascade hops.

  • 6.5% ABV | IBU 62

    Well balanced tropical IPA with hints of stone fruit, guava, white grape, and citrus from Nelson and Galaxy hops.

  • 6.9% ABV | IBU 65

    West Coast IPA brewed with Simcoe, Citra, Ekuanot, and Columbus hops. With aromas of tropical fruit and a bitter bite on the finish.

  • 7.3% ABV | IBU 23

    Brewed with espresso, vanilla, and chocolate. Rich, creamy, and smooth. Well balanced with a roasty aroma.

Seasonal Beers

  • ABV 6.4% | IBUs 70

    Citra, Mosaic, and Denali with a super tropical yeast blend. Cloudy with a slight malt sweetness from the use of wheat, which leads the way for a blast of tropical fruit, red berries, and oranges from the hops. The finish is dry and crisp with a soft orange twang.

  • ABV 7.1% | IBUs 65

    Northeast style hazy IPAwith premium malt and hoppy goodness and juicy, fruity finish.

  • ABV 6.4% | IBUs 55

    A super tropical, stone fruit, guava and passionfruit juicy hop explosion from Cashmere, Mosaic, Citra and Galaxy hops.

  • ABV 7.0% | IBUs 60

    Simcoe flowers, pellets, CO2 extract, and Lupulin powder to make this great well balanced IPA.  Simcoe is a great dual purpose hop making it perfect for both bittering, flavor, and aroma hop additions. This results in a quintessential West Coast IPA with aromas and flavors of pine, citrus, and passion fruit.

  • ABV 6.3% | IBUs 25

    This full bodied Amber Ale is made with roasted, locally grown sugar pie pumpkins that are roasted with a specil blend of spices.

  • ABV 14.5% | IBU’s 21
    Bourbon Barrel Aged

    By far the biggest beer we have ever made! It displays a deep amber color, with Crystal and Munich malts presenting strong fruity esters in the aroma, while the American hops identify this as an American take on a classic. The high alcohol is evident but subdued by the oak and char from aging in bourbon barrels, adding additional complexity to this superbly smooth barelywine.

Meet the Brewmaster, James Costa

Over the last 30 years, James Costa has worked as some of the Northern California’s most notable craft breweries, assisting in the creation of some truly spectacular beers like Bear Republic’s famous Racer 5.  Here at Half Moon Bay he’s introduced a number of award winning beers including Full Swing IPA and Tunnel Vision IPA, not to mention California’s first beer made using recycled water. James personal brewing philosophy: “Creating world-class beer out of a combination of the finest ingredients and innovative, modern techniques.”
